SARSYC 2024 [5TH EDITION] Call for Conference Chairperson

 

We are excited to announce the 5th edition of the Southern African Regional Students and Youth Conference (SARSYC) which is running from the 17th of 19th of July in Botswana. This conference serves as a platform for young people, policymakers, researchers, civil society organizations, and development partners from across the Southern African community to discuss innovative and collaborative approaches for youth-centric education and health policies. The theme for 5th edition of the conference is “Building Bridges, Navigating Emerging Issues: Advancing Equitable Access to Public Health and Education”.
We are currently seeking dedicated and passionate young people to join us as Conference chairpersons. If you are interested in steering dynamic conversations for positive discourse, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee the conference sessions.
• Facilitate the engagement of participants to ensure productive, fair, and tolerant discussions.
• Coordinate with speakers and panelists for smooth session transitions.
• Represent SARSYC and uphold the conference’s objectives.

Eligibility criteria
Age: 18 to 26

Nationality
The chairperson must be a citizen of any Southern African Country

Requirements
• Demonstrated commitment to human rights, youth empowerment, education of health.
• Proven experience in leadership roles, preferably in conference/event management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
• The application should be submitted on or before the 31st of May 2024.
